The BOSCH Rexroth Centre for Excellence in Automation at SVKM’s NMIMS Shirpur is a cutting-edge facility that empowers students with practical skills in automation technologies. Equipped with hydraulics workstations, pneumatic setups, PLC labs, and even a SCARA robot, the centre covers a wide spectrum of industrial automation. Practical exercises involve building and testing hydraulic circuits, understanding pressure and flow control, and exploring applications in heavy machinery, construction equipment, and industrial automation. Students learn to design and assemble pneumatic circuits, control motion using air pressure, and troubleshoot common issues. Applications include robotics, assembly lines, and automated packaging. Students write ladder logic programs, simulate control sequences, and connect PLCs to real-world devices. They gain skills needed for factory automation, process control, and monitoring. Additionally, students have access to state-of-the-art 3D printers, allowing them to design and create objects based on real-world applications. By bridging theory and practice, the centre prepares students for the dynamic field of Industry 4.0, emphasizing hands-on learning and innovation. The center’s holistic approach covers concepts related to Industry 4.0. Students understand the convergence of digital technologies, data analytics, and automation.
